Angus Barrett

Angus Barrett has been developing and selling leather goods since 1987. What originally started as a hobby, when Angus' father first taught him to plait leather, has grown into an exciting and successful business which handcrafts a vast array of quality leather and canvas goods and which services both people involved with horse and rodeo and the rural and the mining industries. Angus is extremely passionate about his trade and has evolved into a skilled craftsman over the last eighteen years.

Growing up on a property near Coolah NSW, Angus used horses constantly for both stock work and leisure and competed regularly in rodeo and horse events. Still today Angus is always involved with stock and horses and continues to compete in rodeo events.

After leaving Coolah in 1994, Angus travelled Australia, working in either mining or rural industries. There was never a time when Angus was away from his leather tools for long, always finding a need or a keen customer for his craft. In every field that he has worked, there has always been something which Angus has been able to make out of leather, canvas or PVC materials; whether it be a bull strap for a ringer, a tool bag for a fitter or a tarp for a field bin.

In 1999, Angus settled in Orange and worked in the local mine part-time to help purchase a house in town with a workshop suitable to run his expanding business. The business was registered in 2000 and since then, the customer-base of Angus
Barrett has expanded both locally and nationally. What started as a small box of tools and a dream, has grown to a workshop

with high quality tools, sewing machines, original designs and the fruition of that dream.

Angus understands the importance of customer relations and his philsophy is to deal and trade honestly, to work with customers to create a product best designed to suit their particular needs, and to make and sell the highest quality goods, goods that Angus Barrett will stand behind.
